Who We Are

Sherpa heritage and student journeys.

Sherpa communities evolved from Nepal, Tibet, and India and are deeply rooted as mountaineers in Nepal. Today, Sherpa students in the United States are poised to share that heritage while building their professional futures. American Sherpa Tours works to enrich the living standards of Sherpa people in the US by organizing travel within and outside the country, giving students a glimpse of their immediate history and the places their parents and grandparents once called home.

We host a three-week summer package that covers flights, accommodations, and travel within Nepal, visiting Sherpa villages and destinations like Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara. A volunteer parent may join through a lottery so students can travel with familiar support while exploring with peers.

Our Promise

  • Personal trips where everyone stays in the same conversation.
  • Itineraries paced like family visits, not package tours.
  • Local friends, home cooking, and places we already know.
  • One outing at a time—so we can be fully present.

Where We Operate

United States: Trips designed with Sherpa students and community in mind—Rockies trails, nearby city walks, and gatherings that keep everyone connected.

Nepal: Three-week summer program covering flights, stays, and travel to Sherpa villages plus Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara, so students see where their families began.
